Visa

The Embassy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Malaysia issues visas to individuals residing in and applying from Malaysia. Due to regulatory constraints, we can only issue single entry visas valid for a one-month stay, with the exception of Business Visas (can be issued up to a maximum period of 3 years with multiple entries). Those wishing to stay longer in Afghanistan can apply to the Consulate Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul for an extension of their visa.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Visa Application Form – fully completed in typewritten and duly signed. Visa application forms can be downloaded under the application forms section in the main menu.
  • The applicant’s passports must have at least six months validity and must have blank pages.
  • Applicants traveling for employment or business purposes must provide documentation from their present or prospective employer, or other organization concerned verifying purpose of visit and an authorization reference number from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan
  • Two standard passport size photos, affixed to the appropriate box on the application form (photos must be identical, recent, color on white background, taken directly off the face and show both ears).

Note:

  1. Processing Time: Normal visa application may take (3-5) working days. If you require a visa on the same day (Urgent Visa), you need to pay extra fees.
  2. The visa is valid for three months, and applicants can stay in Afghanistan for one month.
  3. Visa Fees:
  • Tourist Visa: 80$
  • Urgent Tourist Visa (1 day): 130$
  • Entry/Working Visa: 100$
  • Urgent Entry/Working Visa (1 day): 150$

How to apply for visa:

All international passport holders are required to obtain visa before travelling to Afghanistan. If you hold Afghan National ID/Tazkira, and have dual citizenship, you do not require visa.

Notes for online application:

1 – Photo Specifications:

  • Size: (3.5 cm X 4.5 cm)
  • Background: White
  • File Type: JPG/PNG
  • File Size: Maximum 100KB

2 – Do NOT use the ‘@’ symbol when entering your email address on the application form.

3 – Name your documents with numbers and letters only (No special characters or symbols are allowed).

4 – Document size should be maximum 100 KB.

1 – Original passport

2 – Printed copy of the online application form

3 – Two recent passport-size photos
